Friend at Hand Families

Healing Begins – One Dog at a Time

Following the massacre that occurred in Israel on October 7th, many families were left shattered – many lost loved ones, were injured, or were forced to flee their homes under fire. Among the victims and survivors were also beloved family dogs.

Our project offers new dogs to bereaved families, injured families, and families who survived the massacre. The dogs contribute to the healing process, providing warmth, stability, and meaning – and helping rebuild life within the pain.

Each dog is carefully matched to a family and is accompanied through a personal and professional process by therapeutic dog trainers (not formally certified), working hand in hand with the family. The dog becomes a significant emotional anchor, helping children and parents cope with anxiety, reestablish a sense of control, and restore routine in their lives.

So far, twelve dogs have been given to families – dogs that have become full partners in the healing and growth process. They are not just companions; they are a bridge to renewed life, trust, connection, and joy.

Join us in bringing a ray of hope to families facing an unimaginable reality. Our dedicated team of trainers embraces the families with love and support, guiding them on their way to a brighter future.
